I was flipping through the listings on digital cable and I notice that one of the Showtime channels is airing this movie and this movie back-to-back.
I just find it strange. And thinking from a ratings standpoint, the latter can't be keeping much of the lead-in audience from the former.

I still plan on writing posts for each of the tv show I watch, but I have one comment about Studio 60. John Goodman was great as a small town judge the last two episodes, but one thing disappointed me. By casting Goodman in the character, it'll limit the possibility of him coming back on the show. On the West Wing, he had a great role as the republican Speaker of the House who becomes the acting President. His West Wing stint lasted only a few episodes, but it left room for him to come back, which he did for one episode. I don't see his character on Studio 60 coming back. It's a shame.

And on a seperate note, here's some information that some of you might find handy in the future.

Bydaway, I got a email tonight that some of my high school classmates are planning our 15 year reunion. Damn, does time fly. It seems like only yesterday that the ten year reunion happened. But then again, the past five years have also been extremely eventful. Next month also marks ten years since I got out of college.

Last week, I tailgated at the Steelers game with my brother and some of his college friends. It was the first time since they moved production to New Jersey that I've had a Rolling Rock beer. I had been wondering how they were going to handle the famous wording on the back of the cans and bottle. They could no longer mention old Latrobe on the back anymore, could they? The answer: they sure could. They simply added a note above the wording that said something to the effect that in honor of the history of the beer, they include the traditional pledge.

Yesterday, I took advantage of a free 60 day membership offer for BJ's Wholesale Club. It's like a CostCo or Sam's Club. Not all deals were great, but it looks to be a great place to buy food for my lunch. The big box of EasyMac was especially cheap. Adam went with me and between the two of us, we didn't really buy too much. We did buy some bulk food items, like the aforementioned EasyMac, but the most expensive items turned out to be smaller things. The funniest part of the trip, though, was the picture on my membership card. The camera was a handheld one made by the same company that makes handheld barcode readers and actually used the same shell as a handheld barcode reader. The picture looks like it was taken using state-of-the-art (circa 1984) Atari 2600 technology. I think Adam could probably use the card. I'm sure that Bill could if he has a goatee. In fact, you have a goatee and a baseball cap, you could look like the picture on my membership card. Maybe that's why they insisted on seeing both my membership card and a photo id when I checked out.

Okay, with election day coming up, I came home from my trip to Pittsburgh with a few messages on my machine that were automated recordings urging me to vote. I got alot of them around the 2004 elections. Back then, it was Hillary Clinton urging me to vote. This time they broke out the New Jersey celebrity big guns and had recorded calls done by none other than Joe Piscopo.

That's right! Joe Frickin' Piscopo!

On the plus side, I am one of the possibly few of my generation to know who he is and actually think he was talented. (My personal favorite would have to be his Frank Sinatra opposite Eddie Murphy's Stevie Wonder.)

On the negative side, I am not one to decide who to vote for based on the celebrity that's schlocking for him.

I do plan to vote tomorrow. I'll research both sides before I go. It's the right thing to do. And the weather will be nice for an afternoon walk. And I vote in the same building as the only Starbucks I know of nearby.
