Yeah, I know I said I'd blog more and it's been two weeks since my last post. But first of all, it took less than two weeks after getting comcast, a mere 5 days after getting my digital cable box hooked up, to have my cable and internet go out. Also, this weekend was a three-day weekend, so I decided to take a trip back to Western PA. The weekend before I was just lazy. I got up on Sunday in time to go watch the Penguins play the Flyers on tv. On that saturday, I didn't get out of bed until 4pm. I got caught up in a Ninja Warrior marathon. And last week I actually had a social life. I also finally got use out of the snow tires I got put on months ago. So last Tuesday when the roads were bad and people were getting into accidents, I actually had no problems driving.

While I was back home this weekend, I got my taxes done. I found out I need to look at paystubs better. According to my w-2, the company I was a contractor for for 6 months was paying my state tax to PA and not NJ. So one state owes me a bunch of money and another state I owe. I apparently had looked at the amount of state taxes on my paystub, but not the state it was going to.

Anyway, I'm on a deadline for wednesday at work, so my social life will be on hold til thursday, but things are looking up.

I think I'll wrap up this post by stating future blog topics, because then I'll be able to remember and it might be also force me to actually write it. Future post will hopefully include one that is a review of audiobooks I've listened to. (Bydaway, I got The Rosewood Casket by Sharyn McCrumb last month on eMusic.) Also commentary about something I heard on the radio that PETA was blaming the state of the Spears sisters on them having meat in their diets.

Well, I managed to squeeze in a post to keep my streak of at least one post a month alive.

Life's been kinda hectic and I've been kinda stressed. Stressed alot, actually. The main thing was that my first six months of work ended last week. So I've been waiting to hear that they want me to switch from hourly contractor to full-time employee. This happened last week, but up to that point I was stressed. Add in my usual holiday stress and a couple other things, and I ended up with a period of time where I wasn't at my best.

I've really grown to hate Christmas. I will be participating as little as possible, from not going home to my family to buying minimal presents. I can't wait til 2008 when all these holidays are behind me.

My new position as full time employee should mean I log in more at home which means I could post more often. If mobile blogging worked like it's supposed to, you'd see me post alot, but I never got a response from mobile Blogger that I was supposed to get, so I haven't been able to do the mobile blogging.

Okay, I want to get a posting in so I can keep up at least one posting each month. Really quick, I'm not working right now. I got laid off. This time it was a more friendly layoff than previous ones, but it was for basically the same reason: too many people at my company and not enough work for them to do.

So if anyone knows anyone anywhere looking for software engineers, more specifically dealing with Java or C#, let me know.

In the process of interviewing I did achieve another of my yearly goals. I had a job interview in Delaware, a state I had never been to.

I have had a lot of job leads and alot more are coming. My biggest issue seems to be getting past the phone interviews. I'm not good at talking about myself to begin with, but put me on a phone with someone I've never talked to and I'm even worse.

Oh, well. I'll survive.

I have alot of stories to tell and most will wait til another day. I have the tv shows How I Met your Mother, 24, and Heroes on tape I want to go watch. (Don't get me started on them cancelling Drive already.) But one story I'd like to tell now. Today, a headhunter was setting up a phone interview for me. She emailed me the information to my hotmail account and I replied that I got the information. I'm now using the beta version of the new hotmail that has similarities to gmail. The hotmail beta went crazy and sent the reply confirmation to the headhunter over two hundred times!!! That's right. She calls me up to tell me that I'm email-bombing her. Luckily she was understanding. I did have 200 copies of that email in my sent folder. Anyway, apparently the only reason it stopped sending is because it hit the maximum amount of emails I am allowed to send in a 24 hour period. So right now, I can't send any email from my hotmail account. When 24 hours go by, I hope it doesn't continue sending those emails.

Anyway, I'll definitely try to write another post this week, if not more.

As I was entering my apartment building, coming from work, I ran into (not literally) the new VP of Engineering for my company. He started right before the holidays. His family is still up in New England and he's living in my building until he finds a house and moves his family down. Here's the funny thing. His apartment is one floor down and one apartment over from mine. I guess I have to be careful about any ruckus I make.
