By the way, the summer edition of the call-in sports talk show I'm a regular on starts tonight at 10PM eastern. You can hear it on WRCT. Feel free to call in and talk sports.

Okay, I have more questions from the millionaire phone calls to share, but don't have the time right now. I did finally qualified, but never got called.

My interview in Jersey went well. I do believe I have a great shot at the job. It's kinda hard to tell, though. The company is a big secure company that rarely, if ever, lays people off. The only negative is that I would have to relocate, but I'd be able to drive back on weekends and such. As it stands right now, I'm going to take the position if it's offered.

One thing about the trip was that up to the point I got to the airport on the return trip, it had gone off without a hitch, so, of course, the plane flight back, I got stuck in a middle seat, which I didn't complain about because I figured it'd be only a one hour flight. The weather in Philly was fine. The weather in Pittsburgh was fine. Apparently, the weather over Hershey, PA sucked enough to cause a 40+ wait to take off and cause a three hour delay. I was glad I brought my cd player, but I didn't bring my dvd player because of the shortness of my flights and I tried to pack light for a change. I did have three magazines, but I went through them fast, so I was stuck with the only reading material being the J2EE book I've been carrying around hoping to learn J2EE through osmosis. Okay, I've occasionally have read it and I know some J2EE from my last job, so I haven't been that lazy about it, but that's not the point. The point was, I was stuck on a plane between two strangers. I needed something better to take my mind off that a dry computer book. Atleast I got some music listening done. But next trip I go on, no matter how short, I'm taking the dvd player.

Atleast, the Pirates are finally going to play some games at home. Granted they have one of the best away records and a bad home record, but I want to go to some games before I have to move out of town. Especially while they have not one but two players with the last name Wilson in the top 10 NL batting average. That's scary. 20% of the top batters in the NL are not just Pirates, but Pirates named Wilson.

Okay, tomorrow I fly into Philly for a interview in south New Jersey on Friday morning. Tomorrow afternoon, I'll be given a tour of neighborhoods and possible rental property in S. New Jersey by a real estate rep.

I also heard from a recruiter this morning about a possible position in a eastern suburb of Pittsburgh that I would be perfect for. He says he would be surprised if I atleast didn't get a interview for this position. He said the company is in such a hurry that they don't want to hire someone who is working now because they don't want to wait the two weeks a currently employed person would need to give notice. That fits me perfect.

But on to my current non-jobsearch related quest, which is to get all five answers right on the call to get on "Who wants to be a millionaire?". So far the phone line has been open two days and I've made it to the second and fourth question. Here are the questions I've gotten so far:

Day #1:

Question #1:
List locations from east to west starting at the atlantic ocean:
1. Grand Canyons
2. Everglades
3. La Brea Tarpits
4. Mississippi Delta.

Question #2:
List books in order of original publication starting with the earliest:
1. Da Vinci Code
2. David Copperfield
3. Gorky Park
4. Goldfinger
(I missed this. I think I reversed Gorky Park and Goldfinger)

Day #2:

Question #1:
Put words in order to make the name of something (in case you haven't noticed, I'm not repeating the questions exactly):
1. Telescope
2. Space
3. The
4. Hubble

Question #2:
Put these albums in order by original release starting with earliest:
1. Thriller
2. N-Sync
3. Rubber Soul
4. Piano Man

Question #3:
Put these shows in order by their premiere starting with the earliest:
1. Dream On
2. Chris Rock
3. Six Feet Under
4. Dennis Miller Live

Question #4:
Put there events in order they occurred starting with the earliest:
1. New Coke introduced
2. Columbia Disaster
3. Hanging Chad
4. John Lennon shot
(and I just realized where I went wrong on this one. At first, I thought I got the shuttle crash and new coke reversed. Typing it in now, unless I wrote it down wrong, I got Columbia and Challenger mixed up. I wrote down Columbia but I was definitelhy thinking Challenger when I answered. Oh, well, there's always tomorrow.)

For all of the sports fans who read my blog, (I realize that by making "fans" plural, I might be being a little bit over-optimistic) I'll be on the sports talk show I used to host and still semi-regularly participate in tonight. It's on from 10pm to 11pm (EST) on 88.3FM in Pittsburgh or on here for those outside of Pittsburgh. I have no idea what we're going to talk about tonight, but we can always use listeners calling in and this could be the last show until the fall, so feel free to listen.

An update on the job situation. I have an interview next week. On thursday I fly into the Philadelphia airport for the first time for an interview with a company in southern New Jersey. Thursday afternoon and friday morning I get shown around the area as well as put through interviews and I fly home on friday. If I have to relocate out of the Pittsburgh area, this is a great company to work for. They have a great relocation package and I would still have the option to live in Pennsylvania.

Also, I don't have any sort of confirmation yet, but it sounds like another company will be calling me down to Virginia for an interview the following week.

And finally, there's always the really big national company that I know a few people who work for who are attempting on different fronts to get me in there. That's the company I mentioned in previous post where I could end up working in any one of seven states or DC.
