I got into work early this morning, 7AM, which is two hours earlier than I've been getting in. I look out of the windows that over look the big parking lots and there were already people parked and tailgating for Ozzfest. That's five hours before the concert was scheduled to start, not to mention simply damn early. Of course, I guess that they're better off than those who were waiting to get into the parking lots at 1PM, an hour after the concert was scheduled to begin.

Okay, by popular demand, I finally got new comments up on my blog. I went with the simple Blogger comments. Unless I find a free comment that blows my mind, I'll be sticking with them.

Last night, a new episode of Entourage was on. It was the episode were the guys went to the Sundance film festival. It was a classic. It had a cameo by James Cameron and yet another phrase to be popularized into pop culture. This week, the phrase was "crossed swords", as in "we accidentally crossed swords".

I saw Wedding Crashers. It was funny and definitely worth the matinee price (which was $7 or a couple dollars more than full price when I was in high school). My expectations were kinda low for this movies because the "frat pack" movies tend to have more annoying moments than extremely funny moments. But the laughs came pretty steady and the movie never reach the annoyance level. There were times where they stretched logic, like when the crashers give toasts and help to cut the cake (wouldn't crashers maintain atleast a slight low profile?), but those times never lingered. And Rachel McAdams lit up every scene she was in. It's definitely worth seeing. It's probably one of the funniest movies I've seen in the theatres all year, but, honestly, I can't remember any other comedies I've seen in the theatre this year, so I can't say for sure.

The last two movies had a trailer for this movie before them, which adds another must-see movie to my list. The original was a movie I discovered on cable and found to be a great action movie with Jason Statham playing the coolest action hero since Bruce Willis played John McClane.

I'm watching the rerun of Entourage now. James Cameron's reply when a woman asked him if the sinking of the boat was a foreshadowing of the downturn in the tech market is a classic. And next week, Mandy Moore has a cameo!

Bydaway, I saw Fantastic Four over the weekend. It was really good, but I wouldn't go so far as saying it was great. It took a long time to get their power and realize they had them. Hopefully with introductions out of the way and the powers already obtained, the sequel won't have that problem.
I think the public in the movie didn't react realisticly. People get super powers and not one person protest or shows prejudice against them? And the government doesn't step in and force them into a government lab so the government can control the research? A guy who can fly and control fire and a girl who can turn invisible would have anyone who's a higher up in the military drooling.
The guy who played Reed Richards reminded me of Jon Cryer in Hiding Out. I was flipping through channels this weekend and caught him in the movie King Arthur with a beard. That was weird.
Another unrealistic scene occurred when Jessica Alba walks in wearing a skin-tight jumpsuit make out of a special new material that's like a second skin. She's carrying similar suits for the other three. Reed Richards, who's her ex-boyfriend & is supposed to be still in love with her, goes "Wow" and grabs a suit from her arms and says how amazing it is, totally oblivious to the fact that she's in a skin-tight jumpsuit.
Anyway, the movie was definitely worth seeing full-price in the theatre. I might go see it a second time, but I don't know if I'll get a chance with my schedule and the fact that there's a few other movies, like War of the Worlds, that are in theatres that I want to see.

One last note, I'll try to get my comments fixed sometime this weekend.

Still on the project finishing up other stuff that they have to do. So still don't have much time. I need to start waking up early. I usually don't get to work until 9am which, with an hour lunch, doesn't get me out til 7pm.

Besides Entourage, another show I've been watching this summer is Veronica Mars reruns. This was on my list to watch when it first came on, but it was on a bad timeslot and I never caught it. Good show. Intelligent. Good with the mysteries and the answers are not always obvious. The soap opera aspect of it seems on the edge of being annoying. There's a lot of secondary characters and they all seem to be related to, be dating, or used to be dating everyone else. Kristen Bell, who plays the title role, is an interesting actress. Sometimes she seems 14 years old, sometimes in her mid-20's like she really is. Sometimes she's really cute and sometimes there's just a slightly disturbing quality to her look. On another note, Enrico Colantoni plays her father and every role I've seen him in, all comedic roles, he has been great. It's a shame he doesn't have more of a name for himself.

TV quote of the year: "Did you just get cockblocked by Bob Saget?"

While 24 is between season, Entourage has become my must-see show. I might have to start collecting the DVD's. One thing for sure, even if you don't want to start watching the series, atleast watch this week's episode with a cameo by the aforementioned Bob Saget. It's well worth the half hour to watch it.

Anyway, The project I'm on ends on Monday and I'm not going back to Pittsburgh for awhile, so next week I should be able to start blogging regularly again. Until then, I'll try to get on when I can and atleast post some tidbit of wisdom.
